Yes! If you have purchased the game on more than one platform, you can log into the game from multiple devices with the same login info to access your rankings and progress.
No. You can download the app for free and play a limited demo of the game, but this is to let people try the game before they commit to a purchase. If you are considering buying the game on Steam, this is also an excellent way to try it first. To access the full game on mobile, it still must be purchased within the game.
The “Climate” expansion definitely will be added to the Evolution video game after release, the details of this and the exact date are still pending, but we will update regularly. Other expansions are under consideration for the future.
We have plans to make Evolution available on as many platforms as possible, and we are working on the technical aspects of reformatting it for these new platforms and will update regularly with where and how you can play Evolution!
Not at the time of release, but these features will be added to the game shortly after release.
With proper credentials, yes! Please email digital@northstargames.com and let us know the institution you work for, your class size, and how best to contact you.
It depends on how you got it. If you paid for your key by backing our Kickstarter, if you were given your key by a Kickstarter backer as part of their reward, or if you purchased a key at a convention, your Steam key will absolutely remain active. You should need to do nothing further to continue playing the game after release. If you won a “beta-only” key in one of our Discord raffles, an Alienware Arena giveaway, or otherwise gained access to the game for free to help us test it, your key will expire when the game releases.
Please visit the North Star Games website, or inquire at your local hobby shop, game store, or bookstore.
To optimize evolution for all platforms, especially mobile phones, we opted to cap the number of species that can be out on the board. Through testing and crunching numbers, we found the sweet spot at 5, as only a very small percentage of the time can a player sustain 6 or greater species for more than one turn.
